A collection of stories and images by Dave Nettle of long, free climbs on the big walls in the Range of Light from Sequoia to Northern Yosemite. This show will be a lighthearted look at a couple dozen of the finest granite walls and routes throughout the range including: Angel Wings, Bubbs Creek Wall, Patterson Bluff, The Citadel, and more. The show will definitely venture beyond just the usual classics and highlight some less visited technical gems and some remote walls where a desire to hike a long way and a good sense of humor are key ingredients.

The show will include a selection of Greg Epperson's photos of Dave's and Peter Croft's ascent of "Airstream" last summer on the Incredible Hulk. The crux face pitch, described by Croft as some of the hardest face climbing he had ever done, brought climbing in the High Sierra to a new level....5.13a! Check out this article by Chris McNamara at SuperTopo.com.

Dave Nettle lives in Tahoe City and has been skiing and climbing in the Sierra Backcountry for over 30 years. He has traveled extensively to the mountain ranges of the world including alpine ascents in Alaska, Nepal, South America and Europe but claims that his pursuit of ascents in some of the most remote and worst weather places in the world must be the result of a defective gene and that hands down the finest rock, weather, terrain and scenic beauty are right here in our backyard. Dave also hosts the Lake Tahoe Adventure Slide Show Series each winter at Squaw Valley.

This presentation will be approximately one hour long.
